Four Ways We’re Helping Local Businesses Bounce Back

Here at Sureworks, we really care.

It’s true. We do what we do because we care about you and your business.

We understand you have a lot to deal with and so things can slip through the cracks. Your safety can’t be one of them though, which is why we ensure you are always compliant, working, and getting the most out of your electrical systems.

Not to mention, we are a family run business that cares about our community. And if recent times have taught us anything, it’s the importance of community, getting behind local businesses, and helping us all bounce back.

To prove that we’re committed to the safety of your business, from electrical installation, testing, and maintenance, to your growth, here are four ways we’re helping local businesses.

Our GivingBack Scheme

We are heavily involved in our GivingBackScheme, working with homeless shelters, food banks, children’s football teams, colleges, and more. When we say we care about your safety, we mean it. Whatever we can do to ensure our you, your business, and your people are safe, we’ve got it covered.

Our team manage their schedule to ensure time is allocated for giving back to the community. This work is done purely to benefit the business, organisation or charity we are carrying out work for and is massively important to us.

“A big thank you to Sureworks who, as part of their innovative ‘giving back’ scheme, brought their skills and expertise to sort some of our electrics out.”

It’s all down to our values

Our values as a company are important to us, if we can contribute to the community in a small way by helping charities and social enterprises, that’s important for us.

We’re not a big, faceless corporation. We’re a dedicated team of trusted professionals, providing a wide range of electrical services to the highest industry and regulatory standards.

If we can help out in that way, it gives these incredible organisations peace of mind that they don’t have to worry. They are safe, we are happy.

We care about being green

It’s not the mentality you’d expect from electrical contractors but that is how we operate. We practise this ourselves with our own waste disposal, planning our routes for less travel, and with electrical vehicles.

The take up of electric vehicles is rapidly on the increase, especially from a fleet point of view. Not only is this option massively better for our environment, but also for your business. Economically, it makes a lot of sense for businesses to adopt electric vehicles.

We’re working with businesses to support them throughout the entire process. From helping you apply for up to £14,000 in government grants, to a free site survey, to installation, we’re here for you.

Keeping homeowners safe

Since the first of June, there was a change to the regulations for private landlords in England. This change gave them additional responsibilities to ensure their properties are up to the latest electrical standards for their tenants.

We are sending our professional team of experts out to complete property tests, recommend any improvements that are required, make sure they’re up to standard, and provide the appropriate documentation they need to meet their obligations.

This is saving landlords from fines of up to £30,000 and keeping tenants safe.

To find out more about these changes, and how they could affect you, check out our blog here.

Bigger picture projects

Our recent expansion means we have been able to take on bigger picture projects to help the community. This is something we are so proud to be making part of our daily schedule.

Two big projects we’re currently working on, include installing life-saving defibrillators around Oswestry to ensure the safety of locals.

Plus, we’re working with Pave Aways Building Contractors, to build seven homes in Sarn for Powys County Council.

The £1.3m development has been designed to Passivhaus certification standards – the most energy-efficient certification possible.

Watch this space for more updates on what we’re up to, and the development of the project.
